1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Noah's Ark Dog Sanctuary Malta, a dog rescue centre located at Triq Wied Musa, Mellieha MLH 7730, Malta. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need. You can contact us at noahsarkmalta@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

Browsing this site does not require an account. We do not use advertising networks or analytics trackers to profile visitors. You only need to provide personal information when you choose to submit an adoption application (see section 3).

If you submit the adoption form, we store the answers you provide (including any files you attach) so our team can review your application. That data is kept on our systems and is only accessible to authorised sanctuary staff.

3. Adoption Form & Spam Protection (reCAPTCHA)

The online adoption application uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to help block automated spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA runs when you submit the form. It analyses interaction signals so Google can tell whether the submission looks human. We use this because our site runs on limited hosting resources: a flood of fake applications could fill our database, slow the website, and make it harder for genuine adopters and our volunteers to use the form. Removing this protection would significantly increase that risk.

When reCAPTCHA is active, Google may:

• Load scripts from Google's servers in your browser
• Set or read cookies and similar technologies as part of fraud detection
• Process technical data such as your IP address and browser information

Google acts as a separate data processor for this service. Their use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not use reCAPTCHA to track you across other websites.

4. Facebook Integration

This website uses the Facebook Graph API to automatically sync public posts from our official Facebook Page (NoahsArkmalta) to the gallery section of this site.

Specifically:

• We read publicly posted photos and captions from our own Facebook Page only.
• We do not access any data from Facebook users, visitors, or followers.
• We do not collect, store, or process any personal information from Facebook.
• Images and post text are copied to our own server solely to display them in our gallery.

This integration uses the pages_read_engagement permission, which is read-only and limited to our own page content.

5. How We Use Your Data

Data is used only to operate this website, process adoption enquiries, protect the form from spam, and display sanctuary content. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted. Gallery images synced from Facebook are kept as long as they are relevant to our adoption and sanctuary updates. Adoption applications are retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our internal records, unless you ask us to delete them sooner where the law allows.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to how your data is processed

This site contains links to Facebook, Instagram, PayPal, Google, and other external services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms. Please review their own privacy policies.
