CLIFF FINDS A NEW HOME IN BAVARIA

As many of you will have read in The Times of Malta, this beautiful Alaskan Malamute was brought into the sanctuary after a combined rescue effort by The Civil Protection Department and Noahs Ark where the dog was found on a cliff ledge at Zurrieq.

Named Cliff (obviously!!), he was immediately rushed to the vet and apart from a terrible tick infestation was found to be in surprisingly health in spite of his ordeal. Hungry and thirsty he relished his first night in the cool and comfort of the sanctuary and was soon a great favourite with everyone at Noah's Ark. Although the sanctuary received many phone calls offering Cliff a home, it was felt that he would be better off in a cooler climate. We were so lucky to find him a home in Germany very quickly and soon he was on his way to Munich with his new haircut! Unfortunately Cliff had to be completely shaved to get rid of the ticks but his hair will grow back and he will once again be the magnificent dog he was.

Thanks to everyone who helped, including the farmer who first reported him, Civil Protection Department, Lynda for grooming him, Joanne for the many baths and removal of ticks, Christine and Rosalind for helping us find him a home so quickly and finally, his new family where we hope he will be really happy.

A visit from employees HSBC SWATAR
We were very lucky to have a visit by some of the staff of HSBC, Swatar recently. They arrived laden with food and treats for the dogs, rolled up their sleeves and were prepared to do anything asked of them. They joined in with enthusiasm, cleaning the beds, sweeping around, walking and making friends with the dogs. The little dogs and puppies had cuddles and kisses and the larger dogs enjoyed walks over the fields with new friends. As you can see from the pictures, they had a great time.

We thank them so much, it is great to see we are supported in such a way and hope they will return soon.
